Workshop Co-Facilitator

Ellie Johnson-Bullock is a socially engaged artist, a therapeutic practitioner and a trained horticulturist. Ellie founded Hospitable Environment CIC in 2021 an art and wellbeing organisation based in Newhaven East Sussex. Hospitable Environment brings people together using creativity and food to explore ways to build resilient, connected and sustainable communities.

Ellie is experienced in designing and facilitating workshops, developing bespoke training for organisations and facilitating therapeutic art and horticultural groups for adults and children. She has worked as a therapist for children and young people for a domestic abuse charity over the last 4 years and has built a wellbeing garden in a women's refuge where she ran therapeutic groups. Ellie is a trauma informed practitioner, she trained at the Institute of Art in Therapy and Education and has extensive safeguarding experience.

As an artist Ellie works relationally with people and places, she builds sculptures and immersive installations out of natural and environmentally conscious materials. The artwork is often co-created alongside communities who are invited to connect and collaborate together through creative play, making food and eating together. The creative process acts as a catalyst for the imagination and allows for participants to have creative conversations, forming new connections and new ideas.
